Panmure Bridge School - March 1, 2013

Past - Present - Future

Today was an opportunity to reflect on what we had learnt in previous lessons, to learn new skills in today's lessons, in order to apply what we've learnt in future lessons.

The skills that were learnt in today's lesson included using Photo Booth to take photographs of a magazine cover, using iPhoto to undertake basic manipulation of the photograph, and importing the photograph into Photoshop to recreate a sketch of the original Photograph.  Students learnt how to create new layers, duplicate layers, delete layers, apply opacity to layers, find and use the paint bucket tool, as well as the paint brush tool.

Next week students will continue to work in Photoshop, and refine some of the skills that they learnt in today's session.

Reflections - February 22, 2013

Reflections

Today's session was an opportunity to reflect on ourselves. It was a chance to look at what makes us the people who we are, how the different aspects of our lives relate to the passions in our lives, and how some of our passions can be fostered through the use of digital technologies.

Students were able to reflect, by sharing information about themselves on Google docs or presentations, and by using images to represent the different areas in their lives.

Panmure Bridge - February 15, 2013

Who are we and what are we passionate about?
  • Who am I?
  • How many different aspects are there to my life, that make up who I am?
  • What areas of my life am I passionate about?
  • How can digital technologies be used to foster my passions?

In this session, we talked about different areas of our lives, what we're passionate about, and how these passions can be fostered through the use of digital technologies.   A class discussion was based around blogs, sites, social networking, and how students are using various digital technologies at the moment.
